Mee Wantan in the House

This is my very first time cooking Mee Wantan. I always cracking my brain searching for the breakfast idea. Malay dish is too heavy and most of the time, I’m bored. So, this Mee Wantan recipe is a combination of Adam Corrie’s, Facebook and mummy’s recipe. I alter here and there, and make it my own. :P Here we go:

A.      For the chicken:
Boneless chicken, oyster sauce, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, tomato sauce, chilli sauce and salt.

1.       Chop the garlic and ginger. Then, mix well using a pestle and mortar.
2.       Mix all the ingredients well and marinate the chicken. *The longer you marinade, the better it tasted.

B.       For the mee:
Simmer (celur) the mee until soft.

C.      Wantan:
Can made by your own or buy the ready made in Econsave or any supermarket nearby (in my   case, I just bought the readymade one, thehehe). Can be steamed or fried.

D.       Soup:
Water, black pepper, chicken stock (mix well) and add wantan if you like.

E.        The black gravy
Garlic, black pepper, oyster sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, tapioca starch.
1.       Sauté (tumis) the garlic. Add some sesame oil, oyster sauce and water.
2.       Add soy sauce and black pepper.
3.       Add some tapioca starch when the gravy is boiling.
4.       Mix well.

F.          Vegetables
Simmer the siew park choi, baby mustard green (sawi) or any vege you like.

* Prepare some cili potong kicap if you want to fulfill your spiciness.

Add some bawang goreng and telur mata if you like. Wallah! Finally, ready to serve.
