Cooking Method Vocabulary

I believe we are able to connect our experience and language depending on the scope and field we are exposed to. For instance, you can connect more when you make doa in Malay rather than in English as you are being taught to do so since you just a toddler. You can appreciate poem and literature better in Malay rather than English. But, when it comes to serious matter, like news, politics, academic and even blogging, you prefer English more. Same goes to movies and drama series, you appreciate English-based better. This is what I experiencing right now. Writing about food and recipe in English, surely a challenging one for me. First, most of the time, I cook Malay dish (Western dish is championed by Mr. Affan). Of course, the recipe in Malay and what my mummy taught, in Malay. Secondly, I prefer to read recipe in Malay rather than English. The familiar ingredients and steps become sooo alien to me when written in English. Even until now, I still look up for the correct words to use when writing this blog. But, it’s totally fine. I take it as challenge for me to learn and excel.

Enough with the blabbering, now presenting the cooking method vocabulary. At least, you know what are “tumis”, “celur” and etc. in English J

Side notes:

I try to read more on food review and recipe blogs to get more ideas and insight. And, there's another one write up pending: Perak's Food Diary. Wish me luck to finish the write up :)
